PURPOSE:To adjust an ink level to the tip part of an air-introducing pipe irrespective of the amount of the ink and eliminate effects of the amount of the ink, by applying an air pressure to the ink through the air-introducing pipe extended horizontally in the vicinity of a bottom part of an ink tank. CONSTITUTION:Air supplied from an air source flows through an air inlet port 8 into an air chamber 9, and applies 8 pressure to an ink contained in an ink-storing chamber 10 through an air-introducing pipe 6, which is projected into the chamber 10 to the vicinity of a bottom part of an ink tank 4, whereby the ink is supplied to an ink jet head through an ink outlet port 7 provided in the vicinity of the bottom part. Even when the ink contained in the ink- storing chamber 10 is consumed, air in an amount equal to the amount of the ink consumed is introduced into the chamber 10 through the pipe 6, whereby the ink level is maintained at the point of a height O. The tip part of the pipe 6 is extended horizontally so that the substantial ink level is not varied even upon some variations in the ink level generated at the tip part. |
