PURPOSE:To make a solenoid valve compact by containing a device for converting displacement of a working body of solenoid into rotary displacement of the valve shaft of butterfly valve through converting mechanism in single valve body. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid valve 60 contains a solenoid 80, a link mechanism 90, a butterfly valve 100 and a control mechanism 110 in a valve body 70. Linear displacement of a movable core 84 is converted through a rack 91 and a pinion 92 into rotary displacement of a valve shaft 102 so as to rotary drive a valve board 101 thus setting the butterfly valve 100 to a predetermined opening. Since valve operation coupling mechanism can be coupled directly, the solenoid valve 60 is made compact and the weight thereof can be reduced.
