PURPOSE:To attain higher productivity and environmental resistance, by providing a projection for regulating the height of the surface of a ceramic substrate in a hollow part of a casing, and providing a projection for regulating the height of the bottom surface of a SELFOC lens array (SLA) at the lower end of a slit. CONSTITUTION:A light-emitting diode (LED) head substrate 1 is inserted in a casing 10 having a hollow part 18, and the height of a ceramic substrate 11 is regulated by a projection 20 in the hollow part 18. An SLA 14 for focusing output light from an LED array chip 12 is contained in a slit 19 provided in the casing 10 on the upper side of the hollow part 18, and the height of the bottom surface of the SLA 14 is regulated by a projection 21 provided at the lower end of the slit 19. Since it is unnecessary to adjust the distance between the SLA 14 and a light-emitting surface of the LED array chip 12, this construction is extremely excellent in productivity. Further, since the LED head substrate and the SLA 14 are inserted in and fixed to the casing 10 worked or machined to high precision, this construction can sufficiently endure environmental temperature variations and vibrations. |
