PURPOSE:To facilitate processing and enhance the processing accuracy by sticking an soft material to the periphery of a rotor of mechanical booster pump, machining the surfaces of this soft material, and by forming it into specified contour. CONSTITUTION:Two rotors 4, 4 which cocoon-shaped profile are installed in the casing 3 of a mechanical booster pump in such a way as 90 dislocated in the phases, and their reverse rotation to each other will perform a pumping action. The periphery of each rotor 4 is machined 4-5mm more than the specified dimension, followed by affixing of a soft material 8 such as FRP, and its surface is machined as final processing to provide a finished rotor 4 with precision outer dimensions. This method provides easy processing compared with a rotor whose total construction is of a hard material, and also permits high precision processing.
