The device has a container and transport rollers underneath which form a pressing chamber for the material which is fed through an opening. Under this is a dosing mechanism for repeatedly sepg. equal lumps held in a receptacle. The dosing mechanism has a base plate with a slider between it and the rollers for each opening of the pressing chamber. The slider is moved by a pneumatic cylinder between a full position when the passages of the slider is opposite the respective outlet opening of the container and a detached position. The slider's passages are filled with material and then in the detached position, the passages are not closed by the base plate, which allows the lumps to move to the receptacle. The passages and openings have an increasing and decreasing downward taper respectively.
