<p>A pulverulent mixture of crushed household garbage and a mineral matter containing calcium oxide is prepared , the thus obtained mixture is compressed under a pressure of 150 to 900 bars to form cylindrical bodies, these bodies are then subjected to drying and hardening treatment by passing through a rotatable tubular furnace, whereas the bodies are heated to about 250c during 30 minutes, then the hardened bodies are milled to a fine powder which consists of granular particles and fibers, finally, this powder is granulated in the shape of spheroidal pellets using a pan-type agglomeration device, the thus obtained pellets are essentially rot-proof and insoluble in water and they are quite suitable as a raw material for the manufacture of building elements such as bricks or as aggregate for the preparation of concrete.</p> |
