<p>PURPOSE:To use a coordinate input device without trouble of convenience for use in case of the use as a mouse as well as a track ball by providing the coordinate input device with a signal switching means. CONSTITUTION:When coordinate input device 1 is placed on a desk or the like and is used as the mouse or the device 1 is inverted around an axis A and is used as the track ball when a ball 5 is turned to output a coordinate signal, a cursor must be moved in opposite directions to the turning direction of the ball 5 with respect to the y-axis direction in case of the use as the mouse and the use as the track ball. Consequently, a changeover switch 4 is switched between the use of the coordinate input device 1 as the mouse and the use as the track ball. That is, though a sense of operation of a user and the actual moving direction do not coincide between rotation of the ball accompanied with movement of an enclosure and direct rotation of the ball with respect to a certain axis of the rectangular coordinate system on a display device, they coincide by switching of the changeover switch 4.</p> |
