PURPOSE:To efficiently produce an optically active halogen-containing heterocyclic compound useful as drugs and agricultural chemicals, by using a bifunctional aromatic compound as a substrate and carrying out addition reaction in an organic phase in the presence of an enzyme. CONSTITUTION:A compound shown by formula I or formula II [R<1> is halogen- containing alkyl; R<2> is H, (substituted) alkyl, (substituted) cycloalkyl or (substituted) aryl] and a compound shown by formula III [s is substituted group; n is 0 or positive integer; Z is group or atomic group necessary for forming aromatic ring; X and Y are -NR<3>-, -S- or -O- (R3 is H, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or aryl)] are subjected to addition-condensation reaction in an organic phase such as n-hexane or benzene in the presence of an enzyme, preferably a macromolecular lipase such as PL-679, PL-266 or AL at 0-50 deg.C, preferably >=25 deg.C to give the aimed compound shown by formula IV or formula V.
