PURPOSE:To enable connection with various types of host computers and to enable selection of various character patterns, by providing first and second connecting means for connecting first IC card storing figure and character patterns and second IC card, i.e. an input interface section. CONSTITUTION:An input interface section comprises an IC card. A font ROM 2g storing figure and character patterns comprises an IC card 20. CPU 2a in control section 2 receives a control signal from an input interface section 1 and controls a RAM control section 2b, font memory control section 2c, print output control section 2d and I/O port 2e, then produces concrete print data which are fed to a mechanism control section 3. A print mechanism drive signal is fed to a print mechanism section 4 so as to print onto a paper. When it is required to print data fed from other type host computors, IC card 1 is removed from a connector 30 and another IC card is inserted. When it is required to modify character pattern, IC card 20 may be replaced. Consequently, the types of character pattern and host computers can be selected.
