EXHAUST-GAS TREATMENT SYSTEM OF SEALED-TYPE CONVERTER

A system for a sealed-type steel converter has a hood guiding the exhaust gas and emergency air inlet valve with a valve box with top air inlet and connected by a duct to the hood. A valve member is movable vertically in the box which has an annular seat below the inlet. The member is normally held locked in its upper closed position and in an emergency is released to drop to a lower position and open the valve. A vertical hollow stem is pref. fixed integrally and coaxially to the member and is slidably fitted on a guide rod to guide movement of the member. The lock is pref. provided by an element extending from the stem which is engaged by a lever movable to a release position.
