PURPOSE:To enable continuous carbonation of lime milk with single apparatus in one step, by placing a web having a number of parallel strings in an airtight reaction vessel containing a gas containing carbon dioxide gas, spreading a thin film of line milk on the web and contacting carbon dioxide gas to both faces of the thin film. CONSTITUTION:A circulating material consisting of a web composed of a number of strings 11, 11... aligned in parallel interposing small spacings therebetween is placed in an airtight reaction vessel 1 containing a gas containing carbon dioxide gas (supplied from an inlet 2). The circulation material is extended in a state inclined from vertical direction. The airtight reaction vessel 1 is provided with an inlet port 7 for lime milk at the top and with a calcium carbonate discharging port 17 at the bottom.
