<p>A silver halide photographic material composed of a support having thereon at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer, at least one layer of the material containing a compound of formula (I): A-X-Y-B (I) wherein A represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group or a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group, each having from 8 to 25 carbon atoms; X represents <CHEM> <CHEM> R represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms or -Y-B; Y represents a group comprising units <CHEM> and <CHEM> wherein a is a number from 5 to 50; b is a number from 2 to 20; c is a number from 0 to 3; d is a number from 0 to 20; R min represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or a phenyl group, with the proviso that, when R min represents a methyl group or a phenyl group, c represents 0, and when R min represents a hydrogen atom, c represents a number from 1 to 3; and B represents a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having up to 8 carbon atoms or a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group. The antistatic properties of the material are excellent.</p> |
