PURPOSE:To produce L-valine in high efficiency using fermentation process, by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Brevibacterium genus or Corynebacterium genus, resistant to polyketides and capable of producing L- valine in a medium. CONSTITUTION:Brevibacterium lactofermentum AJ3434 (FERM P-1845) is used as mother strain and subjected to N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine treatment to obtain a variant strain Brevibacterium lactofermentum AJ12341 (FERM P-9324) growing in a medium containing MPA (mycophenolic acid) which is a kind of polyketides. In the same manner, Corynebacterium glutamicum AJ3776 is used as mother strain and subjected to mutagenic treatment to obtain AJ12342 strain (FERM P-9325) resistant to MPA. These strains are cultured in a nutrient medium at pH 4-8 and 25-37 deg.C under aerobic condition for 1-7 days and the objective L-valine is separated from the medium. |
