PURPOSE:To reduce the moisture content of a dehydrated cake and improve separability of the cake from the filter cloth by a method in which a composition of powder obtained by adsorption of specific condensation-type polyamine in an organic fibrous material and a powdery cationic organic polymer flocculant is used as the flocculant. CONSTITUTION:Condensation-type polyamine (condensate of amine and formalin, condensate, of alkylene diamine and epichlohydrine) having 6.0mg/g- or more of colloidal cationic charge value at pH 4 in terms of the amount of dry material, and 300,000 or less of molecular weight is allowed to be adsorbed in organic fibrous materials such as wool, acrylic fiber and paper, and resultantly its powder is obtained. A composition of this powder and powder cationic organic polymer flocculant (polyacrylaminoethylacrylate, polyvinyulimidazolin) having 2,000,000 or more of molecular weight is used as the flocculant. If this flocculant is applied for dehydration of organic sludge, the moisture content of dehydrated cake can be reduced, and the separation properties of the dehydrated cake from filter cloth improved.
