PURPOSE:To analyze impurities at a high accuracy, by performing a microanalysis of a residue concentrated thereof after highly pure aluminum reacts with ethyl bromide to separate an formed organic aluminum compound by distillation. CONSTITUTION:Ethyl bromide is added to highly pure aluminum to be converted into a liquid organic aluminum by reaction thereof in the presence of a platinum group catalyst and bromine. The product liquid is distilled under a reduced pressure to obtain a liquid organic aluminum compound. Moreover, the organic aluminum compound is separated by distillation to take a residue. In the process, impurities are concentrated to be supplied as sample for microanalysis, which is analyzed by the plasma emission analysis and frameless atomic absorption analysis to detect impurities such as Cu, Mg, Mn, Zn, and Ti. Thus, the microanalysis of the impurities by concentration eliminates environmental pollution with limited amount of an analysis reagent, thereby enabling analysis at a high accuracy.
