A tamper-evident closure device comprises a closure 5 having an internally threaded skirt with a groove therein between radially outer and inner skirt portions 9a and 9b, to receive a tamper-evidence band 6 complete with an inwardly extending bead 7 which engages under a transfer ring 4 of a container 1 to hold the tamper-evident band 6 down and hence separate it from the closure 5 as the closure is unscrewed from the container 1. A method of simultaneously stripping the closure and tamper-evidence band from a common mould core is also disclosed. |
