PURPOSE:To improve cooling efficiency and to promote it to high output, by providing a cooling liquid passage close to a stator armature iron core and a stator field iron core. CONSTITUTION:The cooling liquid in a cooling liquid circulating line 25 is led from inflow ports 26 and 27. The cooling liquid flowing into a cooling liquid passage 28 on an armature iron core side gives off heat transmitted from a stator armature coil 11 to a stator armature coil 23 to check the temperature rise and is exhausted to a cooling liquid circulating line 25 on discharge side. Likewise, the cooling liquid flowing into a cooling liquid passage 29 on field iron core side absorbs heat from a field coil 9 through a stator field iron core 22 to cool the field coil 9 and is exhausted to the return passage of the cooling liquid circulating passage 25. In this way, by forcibly circulating the cooling liquid to the passage 28 on armature iron core side and the passage 29 on field iron core side respectively, the stator armature iron core 23 and the stator field iron core 22 are cooled. Consequently, the temperature rise of the stator armature coil 11 and the field coil 9 is so well checked that the magnetic characteristic is prevented from lowering and a generator producing high output is obtained.
