METHOD FOR RECOVERING SILVER

PURPOSE: To efficiently separate and recover silver from aq. dilute soln. of silver (I) ion and aq. silver-containing soln. containing high concn. hydrochloric acid ion difficult in recovering here to fore and also to selectively separate only silver even if the silver ion coexists with other metal ions. CONSTITUTION: The aq. silver-containing soln. is brought into contact with an org. solvent containing O,O-bis(2-ethylhexyl)hydrodiene thiophosphate to transfer the silver from a water phase to an org. solvent phase, or the silver- containing aq. soln. is brought into contact with a porous resin carrying the O,O-bis(2-ethylhexyl)hydrodiene thiophosphate to adsorb the silver and to elute the silver with the org. solvent, and the silver is recovered from the silver- containing solvent.
