PURPOSE:To secure a sufficient fixation area and a fixation time by clamping a form between a couple of flat plates and performing heat fixation so that the fixation width is larger than transfer width. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a fixing device 13 which transfers toner images formed on latent image carriers 14 and 15 to the form 11, a pressure receiving plate 21 made of an elastic material so that its top surface 22 is formed flat, and a pressure plate 36 which is arranged so as to move vertically and press the pressure receiving plate 21 elastically from above and has its reverse surface 37 formed flat. Further, a heat fixing device 18 is formed by embedding a heater in the pressure plate 36 and the one-time fixation width of the heat fixing device 18 in the conveyance direction of the form 11 conveyed intermittently from the transfer device 13 to the heat fixing device 18 is set larger than the one-time transfer width of the transfer device 13. Thus, the one-time fixation width is larger than the transfer width, so a transfer range is securely heat-fixed and the pressure plate 36 and pressure receiving plate 21 contact each other on the completely flat surfaces, so a long fixation time is secured.
