A coupling component (SW) connects two adjacent sections (a,B) of the contact line (L), with a detector (CU) monitoring the approach of a vehicle to the section transition point, activating the component. It also detects the complete passage of the vehicle over the point, and then causes the component to be disconnected. The coupling component comprises anti-parallel-coupling thyristor valves (TY1,TY2). The voltage of the feed current rectifiers (SRA,SRB) is controllable, and when complete passage of a vehicle over the transition point has been achieved, the detector causes the thyristor valves to be extinguished. This occurs when the direction of the current through the thyristor voltage is increased in the rectifier of one section, and decreased in that of the other. |
