A timer of the type wherein a motor drives a bank of cams which can be manually rotated to different start positions for various programmes is provided with pins which can be selectively set by means of respective actuator buttons to determine a desired start position. The timer cam subassembly (Fig. 2, not shown) is mounted on the back of a plate 14 by means of screws 68 in slots 70 to allow initial fine adjustment of the starting points with respect to pins 28. Each pin 28 co-operates with a respective hole 38 in a disc 24 mounted on a shaft 16 which rotates with the cam bank and carries a knob 17, Fig. 2 (not shown) for manual adjustment. Wires 42, anchored at points 44, pass through respective push bars 40 to associated pins 28 and normally bias the pins away from disc 24. When a button 41 is depressed it urges the corresponding pin 28 towards the disc 24 and if shaft 16 is then turned the cam bank will be stopped in the desired start position by the engagement of the selected pin 28 in its hole 38. The shaft 16 may then be depressed axially to move the disc 24 clear of pins 28 and to switch on the timer motor. |
