PURPOSE:To perform secure separation by adjusting the operation timing of a separation claw after the detecting operation of a photosensitive material detecting means by a separation claw operation control means and accurately standing the claw between a photosensitive material and an image receiving material. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive materials S and image receiving paper C are conveyed to a separation device 25 one over the other and when the front end reaches the swing range of the separation claw 27 after a sensor SW detects the front end of the photosensitive material S, a solenoid operates and the separation claw 27 swings. If the separation claw 27 devices in operation timing, the setting of the conveyance time from the sensor SW to the separation claw 27 in a time counter is varied with a variable resistor for timing adjustment and image recording operation based upon this value is carried out. This result is compared with the starting timing deviation to adjust the operation timing of the separation claw 27. Consequently, the separation claw can be put in operation at accurate timing.
