摘要 PURPOSE:To shorten the necessary time for kick-down and obtain the sharp acceleration performance by putting a clutch into the semiclutch state for only a set time simultaneously with the start of kick-down and accelerating the increase of the engine revolution speed and the speed change of a continuously variable transmission. CONSTITUTION:The crankshaft 2 of an engine 1 is connected with the driving shaft 11 of a continuously variable transmission 10 through transmission means 5 and 6. Further, the driven shaft 13 of the continuously variable transmission 10 and a hollow shaft 19 are connected and disconnected by an automatic start clutch 20, and the hydraulic pressure for the clutch 20 is controlled by a start control valve 45. A pulley control valve 43 and the start control valve 45 are controlled by an electronic controller 60. In this case, if either the throttle opening degree or the variation rate through time of the throttle opening degree exceeds each set value, the clutch 20 is put into the gentle engagement state only for the set time shorter than the shortest time in which the controller 10 reaches an aimed speed change ratio. At the same time, the transmission 10 performs speed change towards the reduction of the relative revolution speed before and after the connection of the clutch 20.
