The invention relates to a handling truck having a lifting arm. Made in the form of an elementary structure composed of a chassis 1 comprising a single substantially vertical section 1a, preferably of rectangular cross-section, receiving, at its base, an axle 1g carrying wheels 4 and 5; the top of this section passes right through the arm 10 in order to support, very much above the arm, a spindle 7 for tilting the connecting rod 8 for connecting to the arm 10; a second spindle 6, located below and vertically in line with the spindle 7 allows the articulation of the second connecting rod 9 for connecting to the arm 10. This section 1a receives, towards the middle of its height, a vertical plane metal sheet 1b, extended towards the rear, perpendicular to its cross-section; at the other end of this metal sheet 1b, a vertical plate 1c which is perpendicular to it supports the counterweight 2 and, at its two lateral ends, two vertical bearings 1d carrying pivoting wheels 3.
