PURPOSE:To improve idle stability by finding bypass compensation to a variation in suction air density after subtracting an air quantity other than a bypass passage or a fixed flow part from such one that compensated and operated the whole request idle air quantity. CONSTITUTION:A control signal setting device 7 sets a control signal corresponding to the bypass air quantity that subtracted an auxiliary air quantity, passing through a throttle valve 3 or the like other than a bypass passage 4, from the whole idle air quantity basically at time of idling, and it controls a control valve to the specified opening via a controlling device 6. And, a compensating device 9 compensates the whole idle air quantity according to a suction density variation due to a variation in atmospheric pressure and suction temperature out of a suction state detecting device 8, finding a request idle air quantity to an engine 1, and it calculates the compensation bypass air quantity that subtracted an auxiliary air quantity, flowing in place other than the bypass passage 4, from the request idle air quantity, giving it to the control signal setting device 7. Thus, improvement in idle stability is promotable.
