PURPOSE:To enable a correspondence with parallel and serial input methods by generating a control signal so as to modify the sequence for transferring image data in accordance with the input system thereof. CONSTITUTION:As the image data input systems, there are an external device 1 inputting parallel data, and an external device 2 inputting serial data. For the former, an image reader and the like are used, while for the latter an image storage device and a communication equipment are used. Image data is inputted from these devices into an image data input part. Information indicating whether the inputted image data is parallel or serial (surface-sequential) is inputted to a control part, and the sequence for an entire multicolor image forming device is determined. The inputted image data is image processed in an image processing part, and transferred into a latent image forming means. It has a delay means which controls the timing of forming a latent image according to the sequence and forms a latent image on an image carrier in an electrophotographic part. Thus the operation can be corresponded with the parallel and serial (surface-sequential) input methods of image data, and a multicolor image can be formed quickly. |
