[Also in Division E2] An apparatus for applying cable clamps 4 of the type having a body portion and an arm for overlying the part e.g. a cable, to be clamped, the apparatus comprising a guide sleeve 3 and a striker 2 for driving a nail 7 through the body portion, the guide sleeve having an extension 3a adapted to telescopically engage with a projection 8, Fig. 4 (not shown), or recess 4a formed in the body portion so that the clamp may be mounted in position on the apparatus with the hole in the clamp in alignment with the nail in the sleeve thereby providing an additional support for the nail while it is being driven. The recess in the body portion of the clamp may have a groove (11, Fig. 5) for engagement with a lip 10 formed on the sleeve 3 or bosses (4b, Fig. 3) for gripping the extension 3a may be provided in the recess. The apparatus may be provided with a handle (12, Fig. 6). |
