PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material enhanced in transparency as compared conventional ones, by limiting the ratio of the refractive index of a component contained in microcapsules to the refractive index of an oil phase component of an emulsified dispersion. CONSTITUTION:It is considered that an interface having a great effect on light transmittance is the inner interface of microcapsule walls and the outer interface of the microcapsule walls making contact with an oil phase component of an emulsified dispersion. Therefore, as the refractive index of a component contained in microcapsules approaches the refractive index of the oil phase component of the emulsified dispersion, light is transmitted through a thermal recording layer more easily, and the transmittance becomes higher. Accordingly, by setting the ratio of the referactive indices in the range of 0.97-1.30, it is possible to cause the haze of the thermal recording layer to be not more than about 30%. |
