PURPOSE:To execute the slow reproduction of high speed shot picture with the extremely simple constitution of a circuit by inputting reproduction signals from a storing medium in a memory and sequentially reading out the signals including individual small screens from the memory as one screen of signals. CONSTITUTION:Video signals written in memories 88 and 90 in a period T3 are respectively read out in order of A1-D1 every small screen in the periods T3-T6. The reading timing is set in a half field period which is the center of each one field period and also set in a half period which is the center of each horizontal scanning period. The outputs from the respective memories 88 and 90 are alternately outputted by a switch 92 every one field period and supplied to a D/A converter 94. Therefore, the video signals outputted from the D/A converter 94 are sequentially displayed in the center of an output screen in order of the respective small screens A-D. Thus, a slow motion picture having information density four times as usual in a time base direction can be obtained.
