PURPOSE:To make substantial improvement of the operating performance of a vehicle by providing on an auxiliary braking device an auxiliary braking means that actuates independently on right and left wheels, a driving means for the auxiliary braking device, a running condition detecting device and an auxiliary braking control means. CONSTITUTION:Two hydraulic cylinders 32 and 34 that actuate by the oil pressure from a pump 30 are to be provided to make the braking power actuate on the left and right rear wheels 10 and 12, respectively. Piston rods 42P and 44P of the hydraulic cylinders 32 and 34, respectively, having a coil spring 42 built in the respective cylinders are moved to the bottom end by the elastic force of the spring 42 when oil is not being introduced from a port 44. If therefore the piston rods 42P and 44P are controlled, the braking power can be made to actuate independently on the rear wheels 10 and 12 as brake shoes 52 and 54 expand. Wires 58 and 60, which are pierced through the pierce holes on an equalizer 62, have stoppers 64 and 66 fitted on the respective one end. The pump 30, a three position valve 70, etc., thus composed are controlled by an electronic control device 80.
