PURPOSE:To set up many set values in a wide range over many digits only by the operation of one knob by adding an increment outputted from a ROM at every generation of a pulse attended with the rotation of the control and displaying the added value as a new set value. CONSTITUTION:When the control 1 is rotated, pulses corresponding to the angle of the rotation are generated and inputted to an adder 2. The adder 2 adds a set value increment DELTAD outputted from a ROM 3 at every generation of a pulse and calculates a new set value D=D+DELTAD. The output is inputted to the adder 2 itself and inputted also to a ROM 3 and a display device 4. The ROM 3 stores function values D and DELTAD set up so that the increment DELTAD to be increased/decreased correspondingly to the set value D is changed along a previously designed curve. Consequently, the output of the adder 2, e.g. a set value displayed on the display part, is slightly increased/decreased when the value D is small, and in the case of a large value D, the set value is sharply increased/decreased.
