摘要 PURPOSE:To use a terminal load for a millimeter wave with a few amount of water, by using a graphite pipe, on the inner plane of which silicon carbide is chemically vapor-deposited, instead of a ceramics pipe used usually, and absorbing the millimeter wave transmitted from a waveguide in a silicon carbide layer instead of the water. CONSTITUTION:The terminal load is formed with a graphite tapered pipe 6 connected to the waveguide 1 and on which the inner coating of the silicon carbide is applied by chemical vapor-deposition, and a water cooling jacket 7 to apply water cooling on the outside of the pipe. The millimeter wave transmitted from the waveguide 1 is inputted to the graphite tapered pipe, and is absorbed and thermalized by the silicon carbide layer. The heat is absorbed by the water that flows in the water cooling jacket by the heat conduction of a graphite layer. In such a case, the heat can be prevented from being escaped to the outside of the terminal load by making the water cooling jacket 7 of a raw material with low heat conductivity such as vinyl chloride, etc., and it is possible to measure the input voltage of the millimeter wave by measuring the water temperatures of the water cooling jacket at its entry and exit.
