Austenitic stainless steel, particularly usable as a core structural or canning material in nuclear reactors

The invention relates to austenitic stainless steels, which resist swelling under irradiation. These steels contain at least one additional element chosen from among tin, germanium and antimony and having a total content from 0.05 to 1% by weight. The presence of one or more of these elements chosen from among germanium, tin and antimony makes it possible to limit the swelling phenomenon. Therefore these steels can be used in nuclear reactors.
