PURPOSE:To perform the mounting of a rotary drum with low cost and high accuracy in addition to the improvement of workability, by fixing a lower drum on a recording or reproducing device via a lower drum mounting member arranged in a notched part provided on the end face of the lower drum. CONSTITUTION:The mounting reference lower end plane of the lower drum 1 is arranged on plane A that is the mounting reference plane of the chassis 12 of a VTR main body, and is screwed on the plane B of the chassis through the screw hole 4' of a rotary drum mounting member 2 with a screw. At this time, it is possible to obtain contact mounting between the mounting reference plan A of the chassis 12 and the mounting reference lower end plane of the lower drum 1 by providing a cavity (d) between the rotary drum mounting member 2 and the plane B of a VTR device 12. In such a way, the manufacturing process of the lower drum can be simplified, and the mechanical strength of the device can be increased, and the mounting on the device can be performed with high accuracy.
