PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer printer simple in construction, high in reliability and low in cost, by disposing a part of an outer peripheral part of an ink roll oppositely to a part of an outer peripheral part of a loop form tape. CONSTITUTION:A loop form tape 2 is fed while having a part thereof in conduct with an outer peripheral part an ink roll 1 impregnated with an ink which comprises a wax as a main constituent with a coloring matter material mixed therein. A thermal head 3 is disposed on the inner side of the loop form tape 2 at the part at which the ink roll 1 and the tape 2 make contact with each other, and pixels 2a are formed on outer peripheral parts of the tape 2 by the thermal head 3. A thermal head 4 transfers the pixels 2a onto a printing paper 8. A carriage 5 is so disposed that it can be reciprocated in the directions of arrows A, B. Pinch rollers 6 make the tape 2 feed. A cassette frame 20a is provided with a cutout part 1a for inserting the thermal head 3 therein, a notched part 1b for inserting the thermal head 4 therein, and a cutout part 1c for inserting the pinch rollers 6 therein. |
