METHOD FOR STABILIZING CHLORINATED VINYL CHLORIDE POLYMER

PURPOSE:To facilitate to operate and enable to prevent initial coloring, by adding hydrochloric acid to an organotinmercapto compound expressed by a specific formula and heating the mixture, separating an oily substance from the resultant product and adding chlorinated vinyl chloride polymer to the oily substance. CONSTITUTION:Hydrochloric acid is added to an organotinmercapto compound (OTM) expressed by the formula (R1 and R2 are 1-8C alkyl; R3 and R5 are methylene or ethylene; R4 and R6 are 1-20C alkyl) and the mixture is heated (preferably at 100-300 deg.C for 5-120min) and an oily substance is separated from the resultant product and chlorinated vinyl chloride polymer is added to the oily substance. A ratio of OTM to hydrochloric acid is preferably 1 to 0.3-2.
