PURPOSE:To realize an information retrieving circuit of a multi-function, and also, of a high speed by a hardware of a small scale, by taking OR logic of retrieval result information to one record which a state holding circuit for holding a discrepancy state bus, until a retrieval of the next record is started, when a result of retrieval does not coincide with a retrieval condition. CONSTITUTION:Information as to which bit is indicating a result of retrieval under the condition which is set to its field is stored in an interfield control RAM 4 at the stage of initialization in advance. This information is latched successively whenever a retrieval of one field is ended and sent to an effective bit deciding circuit 2 of the next stage. When a result of a discrepancy decision is shown with respect to a selected effective bit, a state holding circuit 3 holds a fact that a discrepancy code has occurred in its bit until the retrieval one record is ended, and sends each bit information to an OR circuit 6 of the final stage. In such a way, in order to take OR of each condition by the final OR circuit 6, a logical operation between fields is executed. In such a way, the logical operation which has been set between the fields can be executed by a hardware.
