PURPOSE:To continuously monitor and measure a calorific value, by removing the dust of coal gas by a filter and spraying the solvent forcibly cooled by a scrubber to tar and moisture to wash both of them. CONSTITUTION:A scrubber 4 and a solvent tank 8 are housed in low temp. thermostatic tanks 11a, 11b and provided so as to be capable of being cooled by a freezer 18. High temp. and high pressure coal gas is allowed to pass through the filters 1a, 1b provided in a coal gas introducing pipe 2 to remove the dust in the coal gas and subsequently formed into bubbles in the solvent forcibly cooled in the scrubber 4. The recovered solvent is sprayed in the scrubber 4 from the solvent tank 8 by a membrane pump 17 through a spray nozzle 5 to wash tar and moisture. The moisture is recovered in a water tank 12 and the tar component is dissolved. Therefore, a calorific value is continuously monitored and measured by a calorimeter 12 using a clean gas.
