PURPOSE:To make it possible to set an intake manifold according to the characteristics of an engine, by setting a pivot of a rocker arm for an intake valve, between intake/exhaust valves of each of banks, and setting a pivot of a rocker arm for am exhaust valve, outside each of the banks. CONSTITUTION:Right/left banks 1a, 1b of an engine 1 are constituted of a cylinder block 5 formed with plural cylinders C, and two cylinder heads 8, 9 each of which is formed with intake/exhaust ports 6, 7 which open to the cylinders C. In this case, the ports 6, 7 are formed inside/outside the cylinder heads 8, 9, respectively. Then, an intake valve 11 and an exhaust valve 12 which are opened/closed by valve moving devices 10 respectively, are set in the opening parts toward the corresponding cylinders C, of the ports 6, 7, respectively. On the other hand, a pivot 13 of a rocker arm 14 for the intake valve, in the valve moving device 10, is set between the intake valve 11 and the exhaust valve 12. A pivot 16 of a rocker arm 15 for the exhaust valve, is set outside the cylinder head 9.
