The invention relates to a shaft coupling for centrifugal pumps with vertical pump shaft. A sleeve which connects the engine shaft stub to the end of the pump shaft serves as shaft coupling. At the same time in the area of the engine shaft stub a thrust bearing is fitted and a height adjusting device fitted on the sleeve and/or the thrust bearing permits a precise adjustment of the pump shaft with the impeller fitted on it.
