PURPOSE:To surely maintain a related position even if a cartridge of a different specification is attached, by setting a related position of an image carrying body of the cartridge and a transfer guide member of a body side, to a position corresponding to a characteristic of a developer, when a process cartridge has been loaded to an image forming device body housing. CONSTITUTION:A tip 17C of a transfer guide member 17 is energized in the direction being adjacent to a photosensitive drum 1 by the drum 1, a plate spring 20 for working on the outer periphery of an end part 17A of the opposite side, and a plate spring 21 for working on the lower face of a drum side end part 17B. On the lower side of the end face of a process cartridge 15, a stepwise control part 22 for abutting on the tip 17C of the member 17 is provided, and when the upper housing 12 loaded with the cartridge 15 is closed against the lower housing 13, the control part 22 abuts on the tip 17C of the guide member and the member 17 is moved backward in the diagonal lower part against the spring 20 and 21, and a gap G between the tip 17C and the drum 1 is determined. Accordingly, even if a different kind of cartridge is used, the member 17 moves to an optimum position in accordance with a shape of the control part.
