The invention relates to a roller for a load accumulator conveyor, including a drive element and carrier element, in which the link between the drive element and the carrier element is obtained by the interposition of a viscous substance confined between at least one surface of the drive element and an opposing surface of the carrier element. According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the carrier element 10 is equipped, at its drive end, with a ring 11 supporting a plurality of peripheral sectors 11A interacting with an axial bore 11B of an entrainment member 9, coupled with the ring 11 via two rolling bearings 3A, 3B, the entrainment member 9 being equipped with a plurality of fingers 13 with an axis parallel to the common axis XX', projecting into the bore 11B between the periphery of the ring 11 and the cylindrical sectors 11A, the free space 6 confined between the ring 11 and the entrainment member 9 being filled with a viscous substance. <IMAGE>
