The invention relates to a container intended in particular for containing medicines and first aid equipment, of the type comprising a box 1 having an open upper face and a lid 2 which can be folded down on the said face. This box 1 contains an internal arrangement device comprising at least two superimposed compartments: a lower compartment 7 and at least one upper compartment 13. Two extraction spindles 14 fixed, near their bottom end, to the lower compartment 7 extend through guidance sleeves 15 formed on the side of each upper compartment 13. These spindles 14 are provided with a pulling handle 17 for use both as a means of extraction making it possible to lift the various compartments together up to a high position in which they are stabilised by supporting means 8, and with pivoting means making it possible to position the upper compartments 13 in a position in which they clear most of the area of the compartment immediately below. <IMAGE>
