PURPOSE:To increase degree of freedom in the design of a device, by detecting the presence/absence of a lug while performing the loading/unloading operation of a cassette and saving a detecting piece which turns ON/OFF a switch from a detected position without engaging with the switch by a cassette lug detector. CONSTITUTION:When the cassette 1 is loaded by a garage 8, an erroneous erasure preventing lug 36 is broken off, and the detecting part 101a of the detecting piece 101 is entered the cassette 1, and no switch is depressed. Meanwhile, if no preventing lug 36 is broken off, the switch 37 is turned ON, then, recording can be performed. The detecting piece 101 is supported with bearings with a shaft 103 on a moving lever 102, and is pressed in a direction of cassette 1 with a spring 104, and the switch 37 is fixed on a base plate 9 via a switch plate 105, and the moving lever 102 is also supported with bearings with a shaft 106 on the base plate 9, and is pressed in the direction of cassette 1 by a spring 107. Since the pressing power of the spring 107 is larger than pressurizing force of the spring 104 and the switch 37, the moving lever 102 is prevented from being pressed down by the cassette 1, and only the detecting piece 101 is rotated, thereby the switch 37 is turned ON.
