The invention relates to an apparatus for performing three-dimensional movements, in particular a machine tool having motor-driven tools, consisting of a mounting, actuating motors, supporting elements, joints and a holder for the object to be moved. The object of the invention is to provide a very simply constructed apparatus for the performance of three-dimensional movements, in particular machine tools, which is simple to manufacture and operate, which can be controlled by hand as well as by programmed controls and which is suitable for use with individual pieces as well as with large series. The invention consists in arranging on the mounting a supporting fork for a universal joint and at least one bearing fork for at least one linearly operating actuating motor, in mounting on the universal joint a further supporting fork for the holder of the object to be moved, and in providing on the universal joint at least one bearing for the actuating motor mounted on the mounting and at least one further bearing for a further, linearly operating actuating motor, which is mounted by its other end on the holder for the object to be moved or on this object to be moved itself or on the bearing fork assigned to this object to be moved.
