PURPOSE:To permit discrimination of a health condition by dissolving sodium carbonate and 3-aminophthalic acid hydrazide into an aq. soln., then adding ethylenediami netetraacetic acid thereto, adding hydrogen peroxide to the soln. thereof at the time of use and bringing the reagent prepd. in such a manner into contact with excreta. CONSTITUTION:A reagent 10 is prepd. by putting the aq. soln. into a housing container 11, dissolving the sodium carbonate and 3-aminophthalic acid hydrazide into the soln., then adding the ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid thereto and adding an adequate amt. of the hydrogen peroxide to the soln. thereof at the time of use. The container 11 housing this reagent 10 is housed in a storage part 3 of a closet device and the upper aperture of the container 11 is held open. The reagent reacts with the components contained in the excreta when the excreta of a person to be examined are brought into contact with the reagent 10. A change in the temp., foaming amt., color, etc., of the mixture composed of the reagent 10 and the excreta arises as time passes by. This change in the temp., foaming amt., color, etc., is detected by a detecting sensor 12 and the results of the detection are displayed on a display means 15. The health condition is thus discriminated.
