PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition effective in preventing the lowering of strength of hair caused by treatment and deterioration of the feeling of treated hair and capable of keeping excellent waved hair, by compounding a specific cationic surfactant and, if necessary, cholesterins in an oxidizing agent component. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition can be produced by compounding (A) a cationic surfactant of formula (R1 is lanolin fatty acid residue; R2 is H or 1-4C alkyl; R3 and R4 are 1-4C alkyl, 2-4C hydroxyalkyl or benzyl; l is integer of 2-5; X is halogen or SO4R6; R6 is 1-4C alkyl) and, if necessary, (B) cholesterins selected from cholesterin, isocholesterin, acetylated products thereof and oxyalkylene ether thereof into (C) an oxidizing agent component. The amounts of the components A and B are 0.01-10wt.% and 0.0001-3wt.%, respectively. The obtained composition can give excellent feeling to the hair and has smooth combing performance and excellent stability at high temperature in addition to the above-mentioned effects.
