There is proposed a device for heating tinned goods in which the air supply to the central flame opening of the burner is controlled by at least two air-inlet gaps incorporated in the burner wall, the air- inlet gaps being covered by two fireproof plates as far as the separation edge of the flame opening itself issuing from the plates, in order to form an air channel which passes round in the interior of the burner, and an air supply concentrated laterally on the flame opening of the burner is thus produced. <IMAGE>
