The collimator (4) comprises a specified number of baffle plates (36, 38, 36', 38') arranged so they can be shifted with respect to one another. A serration (43') is provided on each baffle plate (36'). The baffle plates are arranged between two outer plates (26, 28); one of their edges (39') can be shifted up to a centre line (22) through which a bisectrix (20) of the radiation (10) passes. In order to ensure, even for relatively rigid baffle plates, that, on the one hand, jamming will not occur when running them out, and on the other, no undesired radiation will pass between the baffle plates when running them into the closed position, the invention provides that the inner surfaces of the outer plates (26, 28) are aligned at a specified (small) angle (phi) to the perpendicular to the centre line (22), and that the thickness (d1U, d2U) of each baffle plate's (36) edge (39') facing the centre line (22) is less than the thickness (d1V, d2V) at the edge (40') facing away from the centre line (22). <IMAGE>
