The invention relates to a process for series impregnation of motor vehicle exhaust gas catalysts with a solution containing platinum salts and/or rhodium salts. This solution additionally contains a vanadium salt. As a result, decrease of the noble metal concentration in the excess impregnation solution is prevented, so that this solution can be used without correction of the concentration for the impregnation of further catalysts.
